GT205 NFT System - Etna Chilli Peppers
We decided to grow our Etna Chilli Peppers in a couple of different hydroponic systems to see how the plants grow in either system, and hopefully to see whats best - atleast for Etna Chilli Peppers.
NFT (Nutrient Film Technique) is uniquely simple. It involves a shallow film of nutrient solution (nutrients & water) constantly recirculating past the roots of plants. NFT gives the plants constant nutrients and water, allowing the plant to take up as much as possible with massive amounts of oxygen availible. The nutrient solution is pumped from the tank up to the channel, flowing down the channel (over the plant roots) and back into the tank. It is the recirculating film that differentiates NFT from other hydroponic growing methods. NFT is probably the most popular method of growing hydroponically because of its balance of easy use with massive yields.
